MS. from 2013

JUst tell the truth--that's the message in your time. If you could only reveal to Republicans the sense of humor they deny in themselves, that truth could avert the Apocalypse, we'd be LOL. They are scary funny--shining lights from the Dimbulb tribe.

Most of us know right from wrong because hopefully, "someone" taught us to believe in our separate and communal agreement of that truth of right v. wrong. This is called socialization. Rednecks have it too on another level.

Angels fly because they take themselves lightly. Why are you so serious? Look at the cultures whom have warred with each other for hundreds if not thousands of years. Watch the news--you know who they are.. (But always question. Avoid groupthink. There are orcs everywhere who will lie). Are these places any wiser, more creative or virtuous? Talk about slow learners! They are not as free to be happy or peaceful for they do jihad with themselves as the Prophet intended; that soul-searching while trying not to project or impose ones thoughts on others. He wanted his people to focus on their own behaviors.

Anyway, back to those people who taught (or failed) us. As examples we found some of them flawed so we learned on our own. Big deal. We're a fraction of a second, illusions, dust. We know nothing. (So why am I writing? I like to play). Our peers are mostly human--some politicians, pedophiles, the overmedicated, wannabe militias and assorted freaks aside. You don't have to be psychic to see the trouble you're in. As adults you're the new examples, more's the pity. YOU are "those people"--the Teachers. If Wall Street steals so does a homeless person who steals. That's absolute truth relative to many being wealthy and one being hungry. Kindness doesn't weaken law, it opens one blind eye. It preserves what you say you want to protect. Children see this clearly. Remember? But we're barbarians. Ego led us to nuclear weapons. We're fearful, rageful, vengeful, insecure people. Something we were taught? We're defined by squiggly lines on a made-up map, or by race. Quality people can change and think outside this sleepy, unimaginative box. They understand the precious beauty of the world. Can we manipulate, control and deceive? Yes we can! Can we co-operate, empathize and love? Uh-huh. But we need some kind of government because of the hormonal, volatile,, fickle, primal, afflictive emotions. Most can't face this horror alone.

Carl Jung said there is a collective unconsciousness (evil if you will ) as well as an collective consciousness (right or wrong)), unspoken and spoken agreements. Time homogenizes this into everything from visionary leaders and humanitarians to the KKK and right-wing wingnuts, depending on who bought into what when. We all go through these two realms many times every day, so pay attention.

Great truths are now being exposed, like the myth of you not living in a caste system. One historical lesson is that we can't brainwash, bully or legislate people into a nebulous notion of morality. Morality is too personal, like religion. A Buddha said, "The true test of honoring Buddhas or God is by the love we extend to each other." Unknown said, "Tell the truth, shame the devil>" You have awards for everything but where is true honor? Make the choice to tell the truth and your perception will open. It's in your stars.

Pray for imprisoned souls, incarcerated, ill, Taliban and incognito. Tickle them when you can and for Goddesses sakes laugh at SOMETHING and care for one another in the false darkness. Your very presence will be required at auspicious times in varied spaces. Live boldly with flair and joy. Don't complain about where your spirits lead you. Look around and prepare. Clarify priorities. Earth is coming along nicely except for letdowns, buzz killers and die-hards. We're strong. Still herding cats. Have you heard the one about the Pope and Rabbi Ortiz?

I hold no apocalyptic views concerning the significance of the year 2012 in the Maya calendar. In fact, in the course of my studies I have come across some interesting glyphic evidence that appears to dispute the generally accepted correlation of the date 2012 in the Christian calendar with the Fifth cycle ending date in the Mesoamerican calendar (See the "2012 Alert" at mushroomstone.com).

There has long been a debate among scholars as to the exact correlation of the Maya calendar with the European calendar. By the time of the Spanish Conquest the Maya Long Count system of dating had been out of use for hundreds of years. Maya dates were written in an abbreviated form called the Short Count which made any exact correlation with the calendar used by the Spanish a virtual impossibility. Attempts to correlate the Mayan Long count with secular time resulted in two different interpretations; the GMT (Goodman-Martinez-Thompson) correlation and the Herbert Spinden correlation. The two correlations differed by 256 years at the crucial Julian year of 1539.

The Goodman-Martinez-Thompson (GMT) correlation has been the basis for the belief that the world would end in the year 2012. This correlation fits much of the chronological evidence from archaeological and historical sources. However, the correlation developed by Herbert Spinden fits even better than the GMT correlation with archaeological evidence from both the Maya lowlands and southern Highland regions. According to this correlation, all Maya dates fall 256 years (one Short Count cycle) earlier than the GMT correlation, meaning that the prophesied end of the world occurred in the year 1756.

Due to various discrepancies in the tests, radiocarbon dating has not resolved the matter as to which correlation is correct. In 1951 and 1955 samples of Sapodilla wood from dated lintels (beams) spanning Late Classic Mayan doorways at Tikal were tested by radiocarbon dating, These tests favored the Spinden correlation. More tests were performed in 1960 which favored the GMT correlation. Although at the time Maya scholars reached a consensus favoring the Thompson or GMT correlation, debate on the subject has never ceased. A number of researchers, including my father archaeologist Stephan F. de Borhegyi and most notably E. Wyllys Andrews (1960, 1965, 1965c, 1968, 1973) have presented convincing archaeological evidence favoring the Spinden correlation.

More recently, two articles by Mexican archaeologists Manzanilla López, and Arturo Talavera González provide strong support for the Spinden correlation. They report a petroglyph on a hillside in the state of Guerrero, Mexico bearing a Long Count date of 3.3.4.3.2. The date is shown between the left shoulder and the tail of a monkey (see 2012 Alert! at mushroomstone.com) holding a five-pointed star and jumping off a mushroom. Researcher Pedro de Eguiluz Selvas ( "Origins of the Long Count,") reports that this date by the Spinden correlation, ie: 2168 B.C.in the contemporary Western calendar, corresponds in the Unified Count of Anawak correlation (CRAN) to the day 3 Monkey in the Maya/Olmec Calendar. There is no corresponding association using the more often cited Goodman-Thompson-Martinez correlation.

If this interpretation is correct, and I wish I knew more in connection to the day 3-monkey, it establishes the beginning of the world at 3374 B.C. That, in turn, places the "so-called" end of the Mayan Calendar at 1756 rather than 2012. In other words, contrary to much contemporary hype, the end of the "fifth world" may have already ended. If so, there was no Armageddon and the Mayan Calendar simply began another cycle.

In summery, let it be known that I am not the first layman to make some significant contributions to Mesoamerican scholarship through an alternative route rather than the customary doctoral studies in Anthropology. The important contributions to our understanding of Maya glyphic writing by the late Soviet lay scholar, Yuri Knorosov, come immediately to mind. It is, in fact, in partial tribute to him and to his "discoverer," Maya archaeologist, Michael D. Coe, that I have titled my web page "Breaking the Mushroom Code." (See Coe, Breaking the Maya Code, 1992) On the site I present indisputable visual evidence of the many relationships I discovered between mushrooms and the related Mesoamerican religious iconography depicted on sculptures, murals, and vase paintings.

Last time when the galactic alignment happened, the Oruanui eruption occurred. The Taupo Volcano of New Zealand erupted somewhere 26 000 - 26 500 years ago. Then the second latest alignment caused the eruption of Sunda Arc (Maninjau caldera) 52 000 years ago. Then Toba Caldera around 78 000 years ago, then Yellowstone Caldera (magmatic eruption) around 100 000 years ago. And the list goes on and on.. Scientist claim that the galactic alignment has no impact on earth, but actually it makes the earth's magma unstable and along with the solar maximum that has been predicted to 2012, and the possible shifts of the earths crust and magnetic and geographic poles; the earthquakes increase, along with volcanic activity increasing(Iceland's Eyfjallakul, Pacific underwater eruption in May). All this leads to 2012, and the eruption of the most active super volcano; Yellowstone.

I am curious your feelings about climatic change. Do you believe it truly is serious or do you believe it is often a lie? Our feeling is it does not matter and we must take care from the Planet no matter what! Melissa from <a href="http://worldlandforms.com/" rel="nofollow">World Landforms</a>

Well the mayan calendar ends on Dec 21, 2012 but that doesn't mean anything. However, in the event that it does let's have some fun and explore some possibilities.

There's a lot of hogwash stuff about galactic alignment and 'signs' of impending doom. Well first I would just like to say that sometimes people like to twist data and interperet it exactly they way they want to see it. Like connecting words in the bible to predict the twin towers at 9/11 ... that's a bunch of malarky if I ever heard any.

Anyways lets get on with our fun or interesting stuff. So we live on earth on a relatively thin film of crust roughly (10 to 70 km thick) floating on magma which happens to be about 6300km thick. Now you see how miniscule we are on the surface of the earth. If we were to imagine this just imagine a piece of bubble wrap floating in a swimming pool and all the water underneath as hot magma just waiting for a hole to weaken and pop through.

Well in Dec 2008 Jan2009 Yellowstone experienced an earthquake swarm of about 850 tremors, which is quite significant considering the area recieves about 2000 in a whole year. Now the following year Jan-Feb 2010 Yellowstone recieved another earthquake swarm of roughly 1800 tremors, almost as much as the whole park recieves in a whole year. So that's a bit scarry, what else is interesting is that the amount of earthquake tremors are increasing and just happen to be around the December time frame. What's also intersting to note is that these quakes are occurring at a depth of 10km right in the magma chamber that's below yellowstone which happens to be about (10km by 20km by 40 km deep roughly) Now this would tell me that there is a fresh disturbance rising filling into the chamber. We'll never really know.

Now the ground level increasing would also point to this theory that the chamber is filling up, but a few inches per year is really not that much and quite miniscule considering the side Mount St. Helens bulged out tens of feet before it erupted.

Getting to the Mayans now, they were good astronomers and they were good at understanding the earth however they were not around when yellowstone first erupted, in fact they weren't even around 20,000 years ago when the last supervolcano in Toba indonesia erupted. It's possible they had some mayan researchers who understood the rock formations and had some understanding of volcanic eruptions but it's unlikely they ended their calender on a day of doom. It's also unlikely that anything bad happened between the mayan ages (we're apparantly going from the 4th age to the 5th or 5th to 6th I can't remember) in any case you can't print calenders forever you gotta stop somewhere.

But a volcano (yellowstone) as an end scenario for Dec 21, 2012 is a much more likely possible scenario than some asteroid smashing into the earth. Although at any given time one could come smashing down, we'll never know.

So in closing the earthquake swarm tremors happening at yellowstone in the past 2 years right around December is very unusual. Could be nothing, but if it is we'll be looking for ways to keep warm, all electricity would be knocked out and we would need to grow food and lots of it. Most livestock would be killed. It would be a tough time to say the least.

Well the mayan calendar ends on Dec 21, 2012 but that doesn’t mean anything. However, in the event that it does let’s have some fun and explore some possibilities.

There’s a lot of hogwash stuff about galactic alignment and ’signs’ of impending doom. Well first I would just like to say that sometimes people like to twist data and interperet it exactly they way they want to see it. Like connecting words in the bible to predict the twin towers at 9/11 … that’s a bunch of malarky if I ever heard any.
